Noisy Garments is brings together work from Frederik Britzlmair, Laurids Koehne, Katharina Spitz, Camilla Volbert, based in the Universität der Künste, Berlin.
Where there is protest and civil disobedience, amplified sounds and homemade costumes are generally not far. In this project, a group of students at Berlin University of the Arts explored how they could embed "noise" and sound into clothing, and use body movement to broadcast their personal cause.
Students in fashion design, communication design, architecture and communication in social and economic contexts worked in teams on wearable electronic hacks, investigating how these could take shape as fashion items and activated by means of human mechanics.
