Faubel and Schreiber

Ralf Schreiber lives in Cologne/ Germany and works with electronics; kinetic sound and light installations and electronic music. His playful and experimental works generate gentle sounds and minute movements, exploring the transformation of light into movement and sound. His works often involve minimal robot technology, chaotic processes and self-sustaining systems. Schreiber creates open hardware, offering blueprints for several of his works so that you can build and refashion them.

Christian Faubel works between autonomous systems research, neuroscience, media art, and design. In his work, he is interested in how complex and autonomous behavior can result from very simple parts. His work is in the tradition of philosophical toys, combining scientific concepts with pleasure and amusement to convey insights from psychology, neuroscience, and robotics, such as emergence or embodiment.
